Health, Law, and Business (HBA) is a student-led society based at the University of Toronto Mississauga with the goal to provide networking opportunities to undergraduate students in the fields of health, law, and business. In this panel, I was invited to speak about possible post-graduate pathways and programs following a degree in Life Sciences. I shared my experience applying to graduate programs in the medical sciences, and also spoke the MSc. program at the Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Toronto.
Our Home Ontario is a student-run non-profit organization advocating for immigrant and refugee youth across Ontario. In my takeover, I highlighted specific challenges I faced as a recent immigrant to Canada in pursuit of a career in higher education and academia, and how I overcame some of those barriers.
Green Light Mentorship is a virtual mentorship program and resource for students across Canada to seek mentorship and guidance from senior students with similar interests. In my takeover, I discussed my path during my undergraduate years, how to obtain extracurricular positions, and how to explore post-graduate career options.
360DREAMS is a non-profit organization youth-led organization with the aim to connect young youth with students from diverse healthcare disciplines through various virtual events including expert panels, takeovers, and 1:1 peer mentorship. In my takeover, I answered questions about possible career opportunities following a Biology undergraduate degree in Canada.
