MSc. Candidate in Geriatric Psychiatry
Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto; Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Toronto
I am a Master of Science student at the Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Toronto, conducting my research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Canada. Generally, my graduate research aims to advance our understanding of the links between depression and dementia in later life. Specifically, my projects examine the brain structural changes associated with cognitive impairment in older adults with depression and mild cognitive impairment. I use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study the neurobiological mechanisms of late-life depression as a risk factor for cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's dementia.
In addition to my graduate studies, I am passionate about and involved in teaching in higher education. I am involved as a graduate teaching assistant at the Department of Biology of the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), senior program assistant at the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (UTM), and curriculum committee member at the Institute of Medical Sciences (UofT).
